Each year, Pima Association of Governments takes to the streets in the region’s communities to count cyclists and pedestrians. At the same time, PAG enlists your help to make this effort a success.

Volunteers work a few hours during weekends or weekdays over a portion of a month-long period counting cyclists and pedestrians at strategic high-use areas. The information volunteers help gather supports regional planning efforts such as identifying locations which need additional pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements.
Dates and locations of the 2025 bicycle and pedestrian count:
- March 31 – May 4
- Mondays through Thursdays, 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
- Saturdays and Sundays, 7 to 10 a.m.
- Visit the sign-up page for additional information and for times and locations
In addition to counting pedestrians and cyclists, volunteers also take note of some characteristics of travelers such as direction of travel, gender and helmet usage.
