Public comment period and public hearing set for draft 2055 Regional Mobility and Accessibility Plan (RMAP)

Pima Association of Governments, the region’s metropolitan planning organization for the greater Tucson region, will hold a public hearing for comment on PAG’s draft 2055 Regional Mobility and Accessibility Plan (RMAP). The hearing will be held prior to the PAG Regional Council’s next regularly scheduled meeting where the members will consider approval of the long-range transportation plan.

PUBLIC HEARING

12 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025
Pima Association of Governments
1 E. Broadway Blvd., Suite 401
Tucson, Arizona

The 2055 RMAP is a federally required long-range transportation plan for the greater Tucson region and provides a 30-year outlook on multimodal transportation needs within the metropolitan region.

Although the 2055 RMAP identifies anticipated projects and their costs, it is not a financial commitment that actually provides funding to the identified projects. This distinguishes the 2055 RMAP from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), a state-established taxing district which provides RTA plan funding from a voter-approved 20-year half-cent sales tax from within Pima County, and PAG’s five-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), which identifies various funding sources for specific RMAP and RTA projects to start planning, design and construction.

PUBLIC COMMENT

A 30-day public comment period for the 2055 RMAP will begin on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Copies of the 30-year draft transportation plan and comment forms are available at PAG’s office located at 1 E. Broadway Blvd., Suite 401, Tucson, Ariz., and online here:
